Our story began with journey mapping…
Our founders met at Brunel University while studying Product Design and Engineering. Both were schooled in the pre-2000 world of digital, designing and building websites, apps and mobile solutions, which makes for some interesting-but-painful anecdotes about early-days loading speeds.
From that solid digital grounding, Philip honed his expertise as a Planner, and Andy as a Creative Director. While working for agencies in London and Sydney, both became huge fans of journey mapping, a flexible methodology which incisively profiles audiences to identify the optimal time to engage. So in 2013, they decided to do things on their own terms. Grand Central Creative was born, and since then, our momentum hasn’t stopped.
It’s hugely important to us to be inclusive and respectful as we go – and we know we’re only ever as good as the people we have around us.
We have long-term relationships with many clients (some even love to hot-desk in our Guildford office), and we treat their businesses with as much care as if it was our own.
Since we started, we’ve always tried to do what we can to reduce our negative impact on the planet.
Like most people, we’re on a journey with sustainability. We’re not perfect, but we do our best to recommend solutions that make a positive impact.

It's nice to be noticed
This year we’re all pitching in to clean up polluting plastics from our local River Wey – a beautiful body of water that travels through Hampshire and Surrey via the Thames, all the way out into the North Sea.
It’s part of our annual 1% Challenge, which sees us pledging 1% of our profits and time to sustainability causes. It’s a drop in the ocean for reducing plastic pollution – but when it comes to our planet, the little things really matter.
